Letter from your Child's Nurse

Dear Parents and Staff,

I would like to thank all the families and staff at Darul Arquam for your warm welcome.  As you are aware the status and details for the swine-flu vaccines were changing frequently.  We finally have more definite information regarding the administration and sites to receive the vaccine.

I spoke with the Public Health Department and if your child’s pediatrician is not administering the vaccine you can call Middlesex County Public Health Department at (732)-565-3788 or the Center for Disease Control H1N1 website at http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu.

In order to keep the flue from spreading we ask that you keep y our child at home.  Public Health officials want to protect you and your family against any pandemic flu. Here are some ways to protect from spreading germs and illness:

·         Keep children at home if they are sick

·         Continue teaching your children to wash hands often with soap and water

·         Cover coughs and sneezing by using tissues or by coughing into the inside elbow

·         Encourage your children to stay at least three feet away from people who are sick

·         Please stay home for a minimum of 24 hours and illness symptoms dramatically improved

·         Stay away from large groups of people, malls, or movie theaters

Please feel free to call me with any questions or concerns. I hope this information was helpful and wish all a happy and healthy school year.

Thank you,

Nurse Sharon
